Have mercy! We will never improperly use a free script again!
COPYRIGHT LAWS inflict PENALTIES of up to $150,000 per infringement, such as performing a script without paying, or putting your name on it.
I would never prosecute you for all that unless you were putting your name on my script and selling it as your own, but I will give you some kind of a hard time if you perform my script without paying me the small royalty I ask.
I have put a lot of work into creating good scripts and you can sell tickets and put on a good show with them. If you have a charity fundraiser, contact me. Thanks!
PERUSAL SCRIPTS
I put lots of excerpts of each script on the website. Just click "EXCERPTS" within each script's description on the www.EcstaticTheatrics.com homepage.
If you need a full script (marked with "PERUSAL">to show your play-reading committee, please telephone or email me and ask. I will need all your contact, theater, location and person-in-charge information to send a full script.
Hire a Playwright
You can hire me to write a play for you to suit your cast, length, subject -- whatever! A telephone discussion is best for getting this worked out. It all depends on when you need it and how much time I have.
Scripts I have custom written are "Slipperzzzz!", "The Frog Prince and the Princess Brats, Jr.", "Are you Smarter than a 4-H'er?", “The Way I Remember It”, and the many cast size variations which you can see on the website.
If it is a script I think I can sell again I will only charge you $50 to $100 plus the standard royalty. If it is a script that only you can use, it will be more expensive, but still cheaper, and of better quality, than you'll probably find elsewhere. It will be the quality of my other scripts.
BIO of Jeannette Jaquish
(if you need words or photos for your playbill)
Jeannette Jaquish wrote her first performed script at age 16, a spoof of a Pied Piper space alien helping a Nixon administration deal with inflation and meat shortages.
She began regular scriptwriting when her 7 year old daughter's theater director asked her to adapt Pippi Longstockings for the stage. She discovered she had the ability to work a story into action onstage and to write catchy fun lines.
She recognized that there was a real need for affordable, exciting, non-preachy, non-repetitive scripts for children -- a need that she could fill. As she directed her own works, she discovered that children have the ability to memorize complicated lines if the line is fun, catchy, expressive, and is prompted by the line before it.
She has over 25 of her own scripts plus links to hundreds of others on her website: www.theaterfunscripts.com, and enjoys conversations with the directors and actors who perform her scripts. She feels it is very important for children to get experience speaking in front of groups so they can be bold in life and take charge when needed.
She has produced and written for stage and video in Yuma and Tucson, Arizona and Fort Wayne, Indiana where she ran the Firehouse Theater for over three years and where she now lives. She has performed many parts in her scripts including Misty in "Dr. Frankenstreudel", the March Hare, Mole and Tutor in "Alice in Wonderland", the Witch in "Wizard of Oz", the Charwoman and Christmas Past in "A Christmas Carol" and Kreacher in "Harry Potter and the Obnoxious Voice - The ssssPOOF!" She has a husband and four children who have all dabbled in acting and writing scripts themselves.
